Farm Manure Waste
Farm manure and animal waste constitutes an enormous problem
in most countries.
Large dairies and other live stock farms, where unprocessed
wastes cause odor and water pollution, anaerobic digestion
equipment can be used to reduce the odor, liquid and solid
waste problems while producing a Bio-gas fuel that can be
used for heating and / or electricity generation.
Consider three problems:
1. Manure is often piled up large piles that tend to leach
off into ponds, lakes, streams and underground water tables.
2. Manure piles also and emit offensive odors that can be
detected downwind for miles.
3. A third problem is the amount of methane and oxides that
are released into the atmosphere.
In today's modern world of Waste to Energy systems, farm
manure can be used in digesters to create and release
methane, hydrogen and other useful gases, on purpose, for
generator motors or other application that utilize natural
gas or propane.
Animal waste, along with other forms of biomass, can also be
brewed into ethanol fuel as part of the remediation process.
During the drying process, moisture and steam are recovered
and utilized to create electricity through steam turbines to
power generators.
Entire farm complexes can be powered and heated from the
animal wastes produced on site. At the end of the refining
process, pellets and charcoal briquettes are created and can
be sold or utilized to create more steam for heat and
electrical energy.
Some of the sludge from digester process can be utilized as
fertilizers and even feed additives.
